A Coach’s Guide to the New Brunswick Interscholastic Athletic Association (NBIAA)
Presented by Equestrian Canada, virtual and in-person 2023 EC Dressage Judges Clinics.
A Coach’s Guide to the NBIAA has been designed to educate the teacher coach, as well as the non-teacher coach who has volunteered to coach in a New Brunswick high school. This FREE online course will help coaches to understand NBIAA policies, school procedures, and the role of a high school coach. All registered members on the coaching staff must have successfully completed a NBIAA Coaching Certification course (pre 2017 or post 2019), prior to the beginning of the sport season. If a coach is not certified, they will not be able to coach until they have taken and passed the course.
WHMIS 2015 (GHS) online course is based on the current legislation and meets the legislated requirement for general WHMIS implementation as of December 1, 2018. Employers must also provide workplace-specific training and instruction for each of the hazardous products in the workplace.
This training program aims to create awareness around Canada’s standard of care, the Code of Practice for the Care and Handling of Equines. The equine Code is a guide to sound management and welfare practices for horses, ponies, donkeys and mule owners and caregivers.
Everyone with an interest in the care and welfare of equine should participate in this program. Whether you are an animal owner, caregiver or just interested in equine, these resources offer insights into animal care and welfare.
This program is also beneficial, and in some instances may be required, for bylaw officers, special constables and other enforcement personnel and agencies who may be called to assess situations within the equine population.
